How to add in Supplements not in Cronometer data base or any searches?
I'm trying to add some of my supplements in that I take daily. Most of them being Caruso's Natural health brand from Australia as that is where I am.
I am finding I have to list them either as single ingredients, a food or as a meal. But quite a few of the ingredients that are in the supplements I take are not in the Cronometer data base of foods or anywhere when I go to search for a particular ingredient on the supplement container.
Any ideas on how to sort this out?
How do I add an ingredient for example: Salix Alba if I cannot even find it anywhere listed in Cronometer searches? Maybe it's something I am not able to do?
Many thanks in advance for any help, idea or suggestions you may have on this.

Hi,
Salix Alba is the same as White Willow, which does have two CRDB entries in Cronometer. Sometimes the same plant derivative can go by many different names. Do you have other specific ingredients?Oh, very much not an expert here - just a newbie that likes to do research!

Hi Kim,
Thanks so much that really does help. I already knew that Salix Alba is the same as White Willow have some here was thinking to have a go at making my own herbal tincture out of it. (have not yet done so). What I am finding is I am using Caruso's supplements and while I do find some foods or ingredients with the same main supplement ingredient I am looking for I'm not finding the Caruso's brand and can't find a way to add them in.
I've tried scanning the bar code to add it in as a food it does not work. It then wants a nutritional panel which Caruso's don't have just a list of ingredients is all they have and the bar code.
I've even tried adding it in as a recipe to add individual ingredients in.
Maybe I am trying to be too fussy and doing the impossible lol maybe I should just add in and pick one of the supplements from what others have added or what is in the data base without trying to be too exact wanting my exact supplement brand I take. I was Just trying to log things in and track perfectly that's all LOL.
Never mind. Thanks so much for your reply and advice you really did in a roundabout way help me you gave me food for thought and that helped so much!
Good luck in reaching all your goals. WE can do it.
Take care and thanks again,
Paula

Just another thing to add Kim I was actually hoping by adding in my supplements it would show up as ingredients in the bottom part of the food diary where it lists all the fat and protein and others things like vitamins and minerals I had eaten daily. Maybe that is just not part of how cronometer works and I am asking the impossible lol

It may not be the ones you want, but when I use the add food option, limit to Supplements, and search for "caruso" I do get several items that come up. Looks like they have about 17 Caruso items.
If the ones you want aren't there, I think emailing Caruso's might be the quickest way to get what you want. They would probably be willing to send you the nutrition label information. Then you can add it as custom and request Cronometer review it for adding to the CRDB database.
Good luck!
