Quicker Way to Add food?

I've been using Cronometer for about 4 months and it is great... at least I'm tracking better everything I eat. This slows down the eating process, but is a hassle sometimes.
If I can barcode scan a food item that's the best, but while in India they don't have any barcodes (or much packaged food). Figuring out what's in the food is a mess and difficult since I don't even know some of the names of food items there.

IS THERE ANY WAY TO ANALYSE THE FOOD YOU'RE EATING USING SENSORS / AI / IMAGING / SMART FORKS? Could this 'smart fork device' or whatever integrate with the Cronometer app to pass nutritional information? I don't see any API to connect with the app.

Anything would be better than just guessing what's in a food item.
