UK and Europe foods database. Needed for use outside USA.
Have recently purchase chronometer app. It is much nicer than myfitness pal, but it is very labour intensive for UK users as UK supermarket branded products, and UK or European Brands are not recognised by the barcode reader, so everything has to be keyed in from scratch. This makes it almost unusable for me. Other apps have these databases why not add them in to Cronometer?

Hi @Fat2fit4me_ ,
Here at Cronometer, we take pride in curating an accurate and complete database. Every user submitted food is reviewed by our curation team before being added to the database; you might find many more food items in other apps, but these entries are likely not curated and verified for accuracy, so you probably will find many more mistakes as well! As well as user submitted foods in our database, we also have complete data sets from the NCCDB, USDA, ESHA, CNF, and IFCDB. You can learn more about how we choose our data here: https://cronometer.com/help/foods/#data
We recently released a blog post about how to choose the best data for your needs here: https://cronometer.com/blog/6-tips-getting-nutrition-data/ .We are working on adding new entries to the database every day, and I personally come across many European labels each day! Until we get more labels with bar codes entered into the database, you can enter your own custom foods including the barcode, and then be able to scan your foods after that!
You can add custom foods by following these steps: https://cronometer.com/help/foods/#addfood. After saving your custom food, you can submit it to us for publication (using the gear menu in the top-right of the food editor).
We have a curation team dedicated to reviewing the foods and supplements being submitted and we will gladly add yours to our database once it has been reviewed!Hilary

Your database is wonderful if you live in the USA.!!! But the rest of the world does not eat USA food!!! Have you ever shopped in a UK supermarket. There are very few brands you would recognise. The effort of putting all the data in for everything I eat, even if it is then available next time, is likely to end with me not logging food because I don't have time to set it up. I am sorry I purchased your product, and will revert to using Myfitness pal (which has a complete database of UK/European supermarket brands and foods) until your product becomes usable for UK based users. This is unfortunate as I think your app is otherwise very good.
