Custom Food tags
Newbie question -- is there a way to create your own tags when you add a custom food or recipe? There are a few tags provided but they are not useful to me, and I don't see a way to add or edit them. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Reefknot,
We do not have an option to add custom tags at the moment. What other tags would you like to see?

Low-carb or keto would be good. Also kid faves, party food, appetizers ... and I'm sure others will come up as I continue to add new foods.
I guess I'm not clear on how the tags are meant to be used. I just assumed they were intended for sorting through my own diary & custom foods. That is why I was surprised I didn't have the ability to create my own.

Thanks for your feedback reefknot! We primarily use the tags to sort foods when using the Suggest Foods feature. If you have tagged your custom foods as vegetarian, vegan, a supplement or containing nuts, dairy or seafood we use this information to determine whether to include them when suggesting foods to meet your remaining targets for the day.

Aha! Makes sense. Would they be suggested only to me, or can anyone see them? In other words, are my custom foods & recipes public? Am I seeing other people's custom foods in my search results?
Sorry if I am hijacking my own thread. I have read the user manual but it doesn't answer everything. Thanks!!

Your custom foods and recipes are only visible to you, and you will not see others' custom foods and recipes.
You CAN share your custom foods and recipes with friends, if would like to. From the Profile tab, under the Sharing section, select Add Friend to send a friend request. Once you are Cronometer friends, you will be able to search for each other's custom foods and recipes.

I would really like to see a keto food tag or low carb as well. The current options are a good start.
