Making Foods A Favorite On the Website Version

I have Cronometer Gold. In the food diary, on the website, I can't see a star to click on to make a food a favorite. I can easily make a food a favorite on the phone app. Is it possible to designate favorites on the website? My computer is larger, I'm home a lot, so I prefer to work on my food diary on my computer except when I need to scan foods with my phone app. Thank you!

  • Hi Cinny,

You can also mark a food as a Favorite on the website. Click the Add Food, search for the food and select it from the list. When you click on the food to edit the serving size and add it to your diary, you will see the star on the left side of the food name. Click the star to turn it yellow and it is added as a Favorite.

  • I'm brand new to Conometer and really, really like it so far. Do I have to be a Gold member to make a food a favorite ... or to quickly put in most of my usual breakfasts, lunches and dinners? Thank you.

  • Hi Sue,

Anyone can mark their favorite foods - no Gold membership needed. When you select a food to add to your diary, you will see a star icon on the left. Click the star to turn it yellow. This will add it to your Favorites. Now if you click on the Favorites tab of the food search box, you will see your list of favorite foods.

You can enter in your usual meals, then multi-select the items in your diary. Right-click on the highlighted foods and then select "Create Recipe from Selected Items" Save your meal as a recipe and then you can quickly add the meal to your diary in the future, rather than adding each item one by one. After adding the "recipe" to your diary, you can right-click on it in your diary to explode the recipe into the individual foods in your diary. This will let you quickly make adjustments to the serving sizes, or add/delete items not in your usual meal.

Let us know if you have any more questions!

On the web, you can mark a food your favorite by clicking on the star icon shown below, circled in red.

  • Hi Karen - I can now mark a favorite food, thank you. However when I select say 4 items and right click & choose "Create Recipe from Selected Items", I still get the message that only Gold members can do this. Help please.

  • Hi Sue,
That's Right, unfortunately this is a Gold feature! You can still create recipes, however you will have to do this from the foods tab instead of creating recipes from already entered foods in the diary.
On the web version, you can create a Recipe by selecting "Create new Recipe" in the Foods Tab. Add ingredients by selecting the green "+" button and searching for your ingredients in the search dialogue that appears.
Once you have saved your recipe you will be able to search for the recipe's name in the search dialogue on both your web and mobile versions of Cronometer.
To learn more about creating a recipe you can look at our user guide https://cronometer.com/help/foods/#addrecipe.
