Do you measure the vegetables before or after cooking?

Hi I am a new user following keto and new to tracking. One of my meals is sauteed kale. Measured is 1.5 cups before cooking but only about half that after. Which do I use when choosing "kale, cooked from fresh". Thank you

"Kale, cooked from fresh" would be the cooked version. There's a "Kale, raw" if you wanted to put in the raw measurement instead. I personally find the raw weight (as opposed to volume) to be the more reliable measurement for vegetables.

  • I use the raw weight. It's really hard to mess up the greens and cruciferous. Kale, spinach, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, edamame, bakchoi and many others----go for it and only steam or blanch. Please use only organic.
