Syncing with Polar
First off, I love that I can sync with my Polar M430! š
However, it doesn't sync on a regular basis, and not all of my workouts are syncing at all. ā¹ļø
I'm wanting to use the "comatose or activity tracker" option for activity level, however if the two don't sync, I obviously don't have much for calories haha. Obviously I have an idea as to where I should be calorie wise, but it'd be nice if it showed up regularly so that I can really see my trends.
Would unlinking and relinking Polar to cronometer help? My watch is definitely syncing to Flow, and I already manually resynced it to Flow just to see if it would help. It didn't. š I saw that it has shown up for others but I'm wondering if it continued to do so or if it's sporadic like mine is. Any thoughts, ideas, or work arounds would be much appreciated! Thanks! š

So is there an update? I contacted Polar and their response took days and I got a general just re- link your account. Useless.

Hi eKram,
Unfortunately we are still working on a solution and do not have an update for you at this time. Thanks for your patience!

Thank you. I did some troubleshooting and figured out that Polar Android is not syncing with Cronometer on my phone.
Too bad. My PC, Windows 10 syncs, but is not mobile.
I sent this information to Polar customer service 48 hours ago, no response yet. Not real hopeful for a fix soon. Seems to be " their way". Oh well....
Cheers

Polar, Android 8, Cronometer Sync.
I waited a few days to be sure but the sync between Cronometer-Polar Daily Activity is syncing again. Yahoo!
Daily Activity is all I need , only item that I checked off. The other selections? Not needed by me.
Hoping it will continue. I'll let everyone know if not.

I found a solution that seems to work well - link both apps to Google Fit.
Google fit imports the data from polar 10.
Cronometer imports the data from Google Fit.
So far, so good.
-
Disregard. Looks like it only worked once...
-
I don't know, now it seems to be importing data from both Polar and Google Fit after selecting "automatically detect workouts" in Google Fit.
-
Hi ashehiggs,
If you have your Polar account importing workouts into Google Fit, then I would recommend disconnecting Polar from your Cronometer account. Then, you will only import the data from Google Fit and only have one entry in your Cronometer diary.

Okay, so I have a pretty firm grasp of what seems to be going on: if I open cronometer BEFORE (in a calendar day) I complete my workout with Polar, I get nothing, but if I complete and save my workout in Polar and then open cronometer for the first time that day the data synchs...

New to the platform here and just set-up the polar sync. Everything is showing up in Polar flow and not on cronometer. please advise.

Thanks, and I'm still a little unclear. I assume from the instructions that I should simply disconnect and reconnect which I've done. However lower under Polar it says just to disconnect. I assume that I should then reconnect but it doesn't say to do that. Please clarify.

I've had my polar 10 successfully synched for awhile now, but the problem is the data import isn't instantaneous. It will bring your data in from polar each day, but it's hard to tell exactly *when* the import happens.
-
@Wanderin_Jack disconnect Cronometer from within your Polar account.
Then, go back to your Cronometer account and try connecting Polar again. This will request permission to link your Polar account.
You can go back to your Polar account settings to make sure Cronometer is listed as a connected app.I hope that is more clear!

Now both Polar and Apple Health are syncing nicely with Cronometer. Generally, this is great and I realized that this causes there to be double posting of "daily activity" (polar) and "active energy" (apple health). Looking at crononmeter>settings>integration it appears that polar and apple health is an all or nothing option. Since that are many other data points that come over in Apple Health (like blood glucose) I'm thinking of disconnecting Polar and see what happens. Any thoughts on this?

Hi Wanderin_Jack,
You can customize the data you would like to share from Apple Health. There are some instructions and screenshots in our user manual, check out the Permissions section here: https://cronometer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020734212-Apple-Health-Apple-Watch
