About Biotin, could someone help please?

edited September 2017 in Begin Here

I am finding odd that adding plant based foods that supposedly have Biotin make no difference in the Biotin percentage on the macronutrients board except for bananas.

If you go into your profile, unclick biotin and click it again [bottom left hand side under vitamins a pop up will come up telling you that data is sparse. Some other items have a similar issue. Not everything is commonly tested for every food. Biotin seems to be one of those things.

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you have some sort of rare condition that warrants concern. If it were actually important the data would be collected.

Determining biotin content in food is difficult since concentration is affected by several factors including time of growth and processing mechanisms. As such, biotin content may be inaccurate/missing in some of the foods in CRON-O-Meter's databases.

The best, plant-based sources of biotin include: sunflower seeds, almonds, sweet potato, and soy protein.
