Guinea fowl eggs

I have guinea fowls and going to be eating their eggs but I can’t find the nutrition facts on them. All I am finding is they are higher in fat and lower in protein than chicken eggs. Do you have suggestions on how to track them?

    Hi Mahala,

While we don't have a source for the nutrition data for guinea fowl eggs. Do they eat a similar feed compared with ducks? Duck eggs may be a better alternative than chicken eggs. Check out the nutrient profile - they are higher in fat with a comparable amount of protein.

Duck eggs are larger though, so make sure to enter in a smaller serving size for a guinea eg, if you go this route.

I might do that. I know that guineas eggs are a little less than fat than duck but more than chicken. Would my best bet be just track chicken or duck and just make sure I weigh it?

You could edit a copy of one of those foods and edit the fat, protein, etc. with your estimates, if you like.

    On the website:

    Go to the Foods tab
Go to the Search Foods sub-tab
Search for eggs or duck eggs and select it to open it in the Food Editor
Select the icon in the top right-hand corner
Choose Edit a Copy, from there you can make changes to your recipe and then Save Changes
This food will now be in your custom foods list

    In the Mobile app:

Open the bottom console (orange +)
    Tap Add Food
Search for the food you wish to edit
Tap on the food to open the Edit Serving Dialog
Tap the menu in the right-hand corner
    Choose Edit a Copy
Tap the Next arrow in the upper right-hand corner to Save your food
This food will now be in your custom foods list
