What cannot be posted?

I tried to post a reply last night that included links to information. They would not go through.
But a short post this morning without links went through.

What am I missing?
Where are the rules for posting anything?

    I wasn't sure if there was offensive spelling, or too many external links, or me doing something stupid.

    I like this forum as it's a great place to share knowledge. I also like that photos (within reason) can be posted. It's a BIG improvement over some previous sites I use to belong to.
