Considering protein portions . . .

Hey there, I'm a lover of bone broth and gelatin and I'm making my meal plans now and using the cronometer (started 2 days ago). According to my size and age, I need 40 g of protein per day. I don't want to go over that amount.
One serving (20g) of my Zen Principle gelatin contains 17 grams of protein!
So technically, I could get all my protein from just this food.
On the other hand, I like the flavors of meat broth. I like to season my mashed cauliflower with the juice from a pot roast.
How do I calculate the nutritional value of homemade bone broth?

  • Hello!

I suggest that clients aim for a protein intake of around 1 g per kg of body weight, or approximately 0.5 g per pound of body weight. However, the weight you use to calculate this should be an "ideal" weight or that which puts you at a BMI of less than 24.9 kg/msq.

To calculate the nutritional value of homemade bone broth, I would create a custom recipe. If you have never done this before, you can see how to do it in the video below:
