Add food to database - not working anymore?

It seems like there is a new technology being used for scanning a new food bar code. it used to be if the barcode wasn't in the database, you could enter the info, take pics of teh label and submit it as a new food. I can't seem to do that now. Does anyone know how to do it?

Hi @SmilingCat thanks for reporting your issue. We are using the same barcode scanner as we have in the past. Could you send some more information along to support@cronometer.com

    Hi SmilingCat,

Keep in mind the app will only ask you if you would like to submit the new food if: the barcode is not already in our database, and; you have not scanned this product before.

If you have already submitted the barcode and photos to our curation team, it will be added to our database after we have had a chance to review it verify the nutrition details. Until then, it will remain in your list of custom foods.

If it you have scanned the food and saved it as a custom food without submitting it to our curation team, you can find it in your custom food list - we only ask if you would like to submit photos to add the food to our database the first time you scan the product.

    Best,
