choosing the right black coffee
Hi , WHen i use my fitness pal or even google, the black coffee is so different in nutrition than the option in chronometer. I guess i am choosing a special kind of coffee from these brands. Can anyone help me figure out a basic black Iced coffee (no sugar) and a basic black brew coffee (no sugar)

Hello @ameerjaiswal ,
We recommend using our generic entry 'Coffee, Prepared From Grounds' to get a comprehensive nutrient breakdown. These values have been analysed by the NCCDB, and ressemble very closely the USDA values:

Why does your coffee entry have carbs?
-
Hello @crkunselman ,
The amount of carbohydrates in coffee was measured and reported by the research team at the Nutrient Coordinating Center for the food called "Coffee, Prepared From Grounds" in our database. The carbs might come from the finely ground pieces of the coffee beans that get through the filter because all the carbs listed come from dietary fibre.
Since this is a very low amount of carbohydrates, US nutrition labeling regulations would allow manufacturers to round this down to 0 grams of carbs. This may be why many sources report 0 carbs for ground coffee.
Here's a link to a study that analyzed the carbohydrate content, or more specifically, the fiber content in brewed coffee. They found that that brewed coffee contained 0.47−0.75 g/100 mL of soluble dietary fiber. http://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/jf062839p
Cheers,
Marie-Eve
