Calorie restricting diet
It is the only thing that works for me... I am a binge eater, I can do a months worth of damage to my weight in on setting if left unchecked.
I also have medical conditions that dictate the foods that my body can use.
I have tried all of the named diets and finally realized I was a binge eater and had insulin resistance.
I have cut out as much added sugar from my diet as I can. I limit processed foods and red meat. I use very little added oil.
With the help of Cronometer I am trying to eat around 1000 calories a day. I am a 62 yo male and I lead a primarily sedentary lifestyle due to my health.
I lost a lot of weight a few years ago but some has creep back on.
I will post back to this thread weekly results. First weigh in today at the docs office...

I have seen a pattern of over restricting and then binging in myself and others. I would not suggest eating under 1500 as a male. I feel like you may be setting yourself up for another relapse by over restricting so much and under eating.
I think it would be beneficial to speak with a doctor about your diet and your issues. Best of luck.
