New entries not remembering past quantities
Say i'm logging an item i've already logged, sometimes the quantity is remembered and sometimes it is not.
This behavior is clearly inconsistent. It seems to happen at random (i.e. no clear correlation between quantities that are remembered or not).
This is quite annoying for food items i always use the same quantity—have to enter the quantity manually each and every time.
Have tried logging out and back in + clearing app data—no change.

Hi AlexC,
Are you seeing this on the mobile app (what version?) or on our website?
Do you see a pattern with the serving sizes they are reverting to? Could you give me a couple of examples I can try, too?
Thanks!

I’m mostly using the mobile version ; no idea about the web version (entering food there is even more tedious — the food suggestions are completely irrelevant).
No specific pattern that I can see (by database, custom food, last time logged, etc.) unfortunately. Happens with virtually all the food I log at random.

Do you need more details?

Hi AlexC,
A screen recording could be helpful, thanks! Send it over to support@cronometer.com if you get a chance.
Cheers!

i’m sorry i don’t have time to do that
can’t understand why my bug description wouldn’t be sufficient to fix this

No worries AlexC! Thanks for reporting it.

Is this still being investigated? It's been over a month now and this is still not fixed.

Hi AlexC,
Sorry to hear you are still running into this issue! We upgraded the food search on the mobile app late September and haven't been able to observe the behaviour. Then randomness you're observing makes it hard to pin down! We'll take another look.
Where are you looking at the serving size? In the list of search results, when you select a food, tap on a food or add it to your diary?
Cheers,

Let’s say I simply press on the big (+) then "Add food", type the name of a food I used recently: Cronometer almost never (I’d say 80% of the time) remember the quantity I had input the last time. Happens with various food (scanned, NCCDB food, etc.)
-
It may not retrieve the serving size info for foods you haven't used in a while until you select the item to add to your diary.

Happens with food I’ve used just 2 days ago from the NCCDB database.

Ok thanks for the additional info!
