Health-Related New Year's Resolutions!

Hi Friends!

Studies show that we are more likely to achieve our New Year's resolutions if we share them with others. As such, I though it would be timely to create a thread that allows you to share your goals.

To get us started, I thought I'd share my health-related New Year's resolution.

  1. To diversify my activity. I'm getting a little bored at the gym, which tells me it's time for a change. This year, I'd like to give pole dancing and OCR a go!
  2. To limit my daily coffee intake to no more than 2 cups per day. I love coffee, too much.

Also, if you are looking for inspiration, check out my blog post on New Year's Resolutions:

Happy New Year Everyone!

  • Walking more! I've downloaded an app called StepBet that sets you daily step goals based on your step history. You pay $40 to join a 6 week game. The first week is a warm-up week where it doesn't matter if you don't hit all your numbers and you can chose to leave the game and get a refund. Then from weeks 2-6 you have to meet your step goals everyday (you get one "free" day a week) to stay in the game. If you don't make the goals, then you lose the game and your money but if you stay in you get your $40 back plus a small amount from the people who paid up but didn't complete the challenge. I've found it super motivating and LOVE it!

  • Wow! That sounds awesome. I love that there is an incentive attached to it.

Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!

  • Happy New Year! I plan to lose another 20 lbs which will bring me to my goal weight... Also mix up my gym activities... I am also getting a bit bored with the same routine there.
