will reducing my calorie intake counteract weight caused by taking Lyricia for nerve pain
I do not wish to have to make a choice between weight lose and pain relief. These drugs increase appetite and slow the metabolism so If I reduce calorie intake by ???? much. Will this counteract this very large problem. Jennywren

Hi @Jennywren
I did a quick search in Pubmed to see if there were any good studies on this medication and the outcome of weight gain and it seems that the majority of individuals taking this medication were able to keep their weight within 7% of baseline at 1 year.
I think that tracking your food intake on Cronometer and aiming for a slight calorie deficit from maintenance (-250 calories per day) will help to prevent weight gain.
Also, be sure to fill up on high protein, high-fibre foods that have demonstrated to be effective at inducing satiety.
