Different Calorie goals on Specific Days

I've been using the paid program for a couple months and really love tracking my overall intakes. It's nice to see where I need to adjust for more protein, different vitamins, etc. What I would really like is to be able to set different calorie goals for different days. I do a 4:3 diet where 3 days of the week I have fasting 5-600 calorie days and usually 1 day on the weekend I eat absolutely whatever I want and it may wind up over 2000 calories. It is so hard to track where I'm at on the fasting days b/c all it can tell me is that I can still have 700 more calories that day. (I have it set on a generic 1200 cal/day) Everything else about this tracker I love. (I tested lots of different ones when I started and found this to be the best to fit my needs) I even refer people starting diets to use your program for how nice it is. If you could add this one feature, the program would be perfect to me.

  • Thanks for the feedback -- this is something already on our backlog and we will be adding it in the future.

Even for those of us who fast intermittently (or not at all), some of us need to take in more protein on the strength-training workout days, or more carbs on other days. Customizable calorie/macro days could prove to be a powerful addition to Cronometer.

  • I'm glad to hear it's on the list! This is a feature I'm looking for as well as my intake targets vary whether or not I'm strength training that day.

  • Hi, any update on this? I am Zig Zagging my calories at the moment but when I change the calories for each day they change all the previous days? Also can you preset different calorie goals?
    Cheers :)

  • Hello,
This is a large feature overhaul that our developers will be working on in the future. Thanks for your patience while we ensure that we are delivering and rigorously testing the most complete and useful feature possible.
Currently you can change your macro and micronutrient targets on the profile tab. Learn more about settings your targets here:

  • Any update on this? This feature would be really helpful

  • Not at the moment. Thanks for your patience; Rest assured, it will happen. We are a small team with big goals!

  • I'm also looking for this feature! Would be very great to have. Squeeze it into next sprint ;-)

  • Different calorie goals for different days would be a great new feature. I understand that's a major architectural change to the system, but I hope you do go for it.

  • Thanks for your understanding @MrGhrelin ! You're right; its a pretty big undertaking, but definitely a worthwile one

  • How is it going with this? Would be a great improvement to your already awesome app!

  • Hi @Hilary - Is this on the horizon?

  • This feature is on our road map! We are a small team, though we are working hard to get this one done well :)

  • And also for anyone who is using any form of intermittent fasting. I love what you've managed to create and would also love to be able to use such a feature. It's been almost 3 years now since this was first suggested so... maybe it's time... :-)

  • It's more than time for this. I left MFP because of all the bogus nutritional entries there and because Chronometer lets me dial in my daily goals better, but MFP at least had variable daily goals.

Please work on this. I was a programmer for thirty years and can't say I ever took 3 years to add a feature like this. It would be great!

  • Here, reading this three years later. I was with cronometer last year, just using a free account. I signed up for a paid account recently hoping that by now this would be a feature. Is this still not happening?

I have to keep tallying my macros with a pen and paper when I open up cronometer and it tells me I'm over or under (depending if I put in training days or rest days as my macro count). It makes so much of the other data collection factually incorrect. I'm pretty sure this could have been achieved in three years. It's such a key feature and how so many people use macro counting.

Please tell me this is something that is actually being changed.

  • Hi there,

It is something we are working on :) thanks for your feedback!

  • ++++

Please try to prioritise this and include it in the upcoming sprints.Such a useful feature.

  • man, I was hoping to see something good here. 3 years and still “in the works”? Is there any available updates here? I paid for the gold package like all the users above, because this app has so many great features. Almost all other apps have the ability to change calorie/macro goals from day to day. I hope this is coming up soon!

  • @Rocky_Lithic_Fitness it sure is coming soon! If you want early access to features, and to be able to give early feedback, you are welcome to join our beta testing group. Learn how to get started here: https://cronometer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040600332-How-Do-I-become-a-Beta-Tester-

“Coming soon” for 4 years isn’t a very nice way to deal with this; it is disrespectful to your users.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.

  • 4 years is a long time. I prefer how specific I can be with the foods on here over other similar platforms, but this would make a world of difference. I'm a paying customer and unfortunately I will not be able to use this any longer until that feature is available.

  • Nine months since my last comment and this STILL has not been addressed. This isn't rocket science, it's coding 101.

  • Hi Team, I'd really like to see this put into the software. It's a big limiting factor for anyone who trains or is being coached by someone who can shift nutrients on training days and non-training days. Quite frankly, this is just taking way too long to implement, considering switching away from cronometer purely due to this.

  • It has been a very long time promised and coming, but I’ve found that I can manually adjust and the other benefits of Cronometer are more than the nuisance factor.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
