Here is a summary of what I'd recommend for gut health:
1. Avoid gut irritants - NSAIDs (aleve), caffeine, alcohol, sugary-beverages, etc.
2. Create diverse microbiome by including A LOT of plant foods that contain both insoluble (not digestible) and soluble (digestible) fibre. Examples include:
Drink plenty of water and green tea (if you like it)
Consider a high-quality pro-biotic (Genestra is a great brand)
Minimize processed food/restaurant meals
Take it easy on excess fat (slow emptying = bloating)
Get enough sleep
Chew your food EXTREMELY well and take your time at meals
Minimize swallowed air: gum, mints, straws, carbonated beverages. Gas needs to travel through your digestive tract and can cause pain, distention, and bloating.
Avoid sugar alcohols (mannitol, sorbitol, etc.) - cause major bloating.
That’s amazing thanks heaps! It seems I can’t seem to purchase genestra pro-biotic here in Australia, this product seems to be most highly recommended in Australia

@Hemingway
I'd just instagram message a few local dietitians and I'm sure you'll get some advice.
The @theplantpotential could help (he's based in Melbourne - tell him I say "hi"!)
