Help me set up Cronometer, please?

In the app->profile->settings->macronutrient targets, I currently have it set to Low Carb Ketogenic, which sets itself for 20 grams of non-fiber carbs a day. Great! That's what I want. But in diary (the front page, at the bottom), the macros popup tells me I have 29 grams of carbs (accurate), which is 13% of my daily goal. Wtf?

If I go back to profile->settings->macronutrient targets and set it for custom, using the numbers from the keto calculator, the macros popup still tells me I'm at 13% of daily, but targets->carbohydrates is giving me 25g, of which I've eaten 149% of today. Again, wtf? It doesn't even agree with itself! And I can't change it to 20g because it says it's overridden by my Dynamic Macronutrient Target Settings.

If I set it to Fixed Targets I can change it to 20g of carbs, and using the numbers from the keto calculator, that looks better, but that stupid little popup is still saying that I'm at 13% of daily. tears hair

Can someone talk me through setting this up so that the popup is accurate to the numbers I'm putting in? There's got to be a setting I'm missing somewhere. Or point me in the direction of a better, more keto-specific ios app? I'm so frustrated with the stupid thing, and confused by what it's telling me, and I just don't understand.

My keto calculator results:

50/F/5'3" | CW 236 | 51% BF | Mostly sedentary

1368 kcal Goal, a 25% deficit. (734 min, 1824 max)
20g Carbohydrates
96g Protein (70g min, 115g max)
100g Fat (30g min, 151g max)

    Hi Williamjosh,

By default, the High Fat/Ketogenic settings will be set to track grams of non-fiber carbs (i.e. Net Carbs) in your macronutrient targets rather than total carbs. You can see both net and total carbs (called carbohydrates) in the detailed nutrient breakdown - what % do you see for net carbs?

Here is some general information about macro settings, that may help:

Cronometer has a couple of options that you can choose from to set your Macronutrients targets for your diet plan.

    1. In the Profile tab, select Macronutrient Targets, then choose High Fat/Ketogenic
This will allow you to choose one of the preset calculations for your macros.
Your protein is calculated based on your kg lean body mass (we will calculate this from your body fat %, so be sure to update your body fat biometric).
Net carbs will be limited to the value in grams shown. The rest of your energy target will go towards fat.

If the preset strictness levels don't match the targets you would like to set, you can also choose custom and enter in your own values for protein per kg lean body mass and grams of net carbs.

The High Fat/Ketogenic setting is a dynamic calculation, meaning that your targets can change day-to-day based on the amount of activity you have entered in your diary. If you have entered a weight loss goal, this will affect your targets as well. By reducing your calorie intake, you will also reduce the value of your fat target.

    1. Fixed Targets for Macronutrient Targets
If you choose fixed targets, you will be able to define each macronutrient target in grams. This is a good option if you have calculated your macro targets elsewhere, and would like to use these instead.

Once you have selected fixed macronutrient targets, on the mobile app, update your macronutrient targets below to the gram amounts you have chosen.
On the website, navigate to the Nutritional Targets section to edit each macronutrient target. Click on each target, tick the box to use a custom value, enter your value and apply your changes.

If I haven't solved your problem here, would you mind sending a screenshot of the pop-up you are seeing to support@cronometer.com? Our support team can help get to the bottom of this.

    Best,
