Recipe Import

Definitely would love to see this. Any update on how long it will be?
-
Yes Please!!

Importing recipes by URL is pretty important to me. I'm transitioning to vegan (still) and regularly import new recipes into Plan-To-Eat via URL. I then lose steam tracking what I eat in cronometer because it's a hassle to enter the recipe. Scanning by barcode is fine for what it is but doesn't help much when you're cooking food fresh
-
Also putting in a vote for this. I literally Just went and looked to see if the Gold had this feature. I’d definitely upgrade. We eat a lot of homemade food and I grab recipes from the web often. This would be extremely useful and may even be the difference for me in continuing to use the app or not.
Thanks so much for considering it!
-
Agree. Carb manager has this and one of the reason I use it.
i am trialing your app and this is likely a reason I won’t renew
-
Adding my name to this as well. The import is the one feature I really miss from MyFitnessPal and Carb Manager, it makes trying new recipes sooo much easier
-
-
Just started using the app and already thinking about going back to MFP due to no recipe import. So tedious to create all my usual low carb recipes.
-
I too would absolutely love and use the feature of importing recipes. The issue, I assume, is there are so many recipes out there and there isn't any kind of strandard-format. But the ability to transfer recipes over from Carb Manager would be huge, in particular. Makes me wonder if there is some kind of recipe-file (Excel, JSON, somthing) that would function to store all the different data in a unified format. Looking forward to the advances Cronometer is making.

Cannot believe this feature (recipe import) is not included in what is otherwise a fantastic service. The level of nutrient breakdown is impressive. But if it is a major pain in the butt to input foods (homemade, whole food recipes) then I am going to get worn out using this. It would take me days to convert my list of recipes from MyFitnessPal over to Cronometer. I simply won't do it. This is a HUGE feature request that your customer base has been asking about for at least the past 3 years. Please get it into the product.

This is GREAT!! I would LOVE to be a Beta Tester but when I click on the 'email' to Spencer, it sends me to the 'forums'. And there it says that the Recipe Import is now active. If that is the case, where do I find it? Thanks so much for this! I'm so excited to use this feature!!

Yes, please!
I don't want to manually re-enter all my recipes which I had on another site. Urgent, as that site is closing in August!🇨🇦 Dee in BC

psst... the recipe importer feature has passed the beta stage and was semi-secretly released last night! You can check it out on the web version of Cronometer now (Mobile app release will hopefully follow soon!)

I haven't had success in using this to import from Plan-to-Eat into Cronometer. I have tried for a couple different recipes. Has anyone else had success?
-
Not all websites will work, unfortunately. Can you give me a couple of examples of the urls for the recipes you tried? We might be able to make improvements to include this source in the future.
Thanks!

Thanks someguy!
I was able to import the Slow Cooker Tex Mex Quinoa Recipe using the original url from delightfulmomfood.com as well as the Corn Muffins from easyrealfood.com, but not the Bob's Mills recipes. I've logged it, along with plantoeat.com for future investigation.
Cheers,

Is this a member only feature? I don't see the button to import a recipe from URL on the page. But when I "inspect" the HTML code I can see the button but it says "Hidden = True" so I'm not sure if that is because I only have a free account or it's a bug. Thanks!
-
I was able to force it to be visible but it looks like it is locked behind the paywall

Hi mwglow15,
Importing recipes is a feature included in a subscription to Cronometer Gold. I'd be happy to extend a free trial so you can check it out!

Unable to import from Diet doctor.com. Is there a way to import those?
https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/keto-fried-chicken-broccoli-butter
Also has the import been released in the app yet?
-
Hi Linhardt,
Not at the moment, sorry about that! BUT, we are keeping track of recipes/websites that are not imported so that we can make improvements to work with these sites in the future.
Recipe importer on the mobile app is imminent!

Is there a list of websites that recipes can be imported from? I use the forks over knives meal planner and use their recipes most of the time. I want to make sure I can import them before signing up for gold
-
It looks like plantoeat is not a supported website for the recipe import. Is this accurate? I don't want to pay for something that won't work for me.
