Red currant seeds are edible ?
I started eating red currant too, but they are full of hard seeds. It is very difficult to separate those seeds and spit them. Can I eat them ? And if so, should I eat them whole or crush them in my teeth ?
And a secondary question...
Indigestible seeds eaten whole, can they cause appendicitis or other problems ? Such as those in kiwi or currant...
I apologise for my misspellings, as English is not my native language.

As far as I know you should be fine eating the seeds. It has been suggested that the oils found in seeds of different berries possess anti-cancer properties, but I don't know if this applies to red current as well.
The only seeds I caution people from eating is apple, due the presence of cyanide.

Thanks, Susan.
Since I posted the question (1 week) I ate red and black currant every day, with the seeds included, and it looks like I'm fine.I apologise for my misspellings, as English is not my native language.

@Marus - let me know if any weird symptoms occur. Because of the fibre content, I'm assuming you're having some wonderful benefits!
