Is it possible to design a fully nutritious diet with low Phosphorus?
I need 2500-3000 calories per day and would like to keep Phosphorus <1000mg.
Oatmeal, potatoes, almonds, edamame, spaghetti, steak, chicken, pork, all have a lot of Phosphorus.
Is that possible?

@AndrewBrown
If there is a medical reason to keep phosphorus low, I would meet with a dietitian skilled in renal nutrition. There is a concern that excessive restriction of phosphorus can lead to poor nutrient intake; in this case, there are phosphate binders that are prescribed that alter your body's ability to absorb phosphorus.

I have a cyst in my kidney and I seem to be looking worse on the days with high phosphorus.
How to get enough calories? I have it down to 1500mg on 2700 calories.
Hi @AndrewBrown
Sorry to hear about your health challenges. Without knowing your size and activity level, this level of calorie intake looks adequate. If your kidney function is still working well, I would reduce your level of phosphorus to the point where you don't get symptoms.
This handout may also help you replace higher phosphorus foods with those low in phosphorous.

That is an excellent resource. What do you think about adding two items?
1. add macadamia nuts.
2. drop oatmeal.
@AndrewBrown
I think this sounds fine; both of those foods are nutritious.

Do you have a 3000 calorie diet that is low in phosphorus?
How do I add 600 calories to this diet?
Hi Andrew,
I would recommend working with a professional in designing your diet, given that you have unique nutritional needs. Cronometer has a great database to search from: https://cronometer.com/#help
You can also find a dietitian in Canada or the US who specializes in renal/kidney nutrition:

It looks like someone hacked my account on those last two posts.
Susan Macfarlane had already answered my questions.
